Monday, July 14

  • Library Events - Floyd County

    • Toddler Time: 10-11am. Join us for stories, rhymes, songs, and other activities. This storytime is designed for Toddlers, but all are welcome!

    • Summer Lunch Activity: 11-11:45am. Start your day with some fun before lunch! Join us for a new hands-on craft or activity every weekday at 11 AM, right next to the Café Area at New Albany Central Library. Activities are open to all children and teens (0–18) and change daily — from art projects to games to creative challenges. Stick around afterward for a free Summer Lunch! No registration required.

    • Summer Meals Program: 12-12:45pm. The Summer Meals program is back! All children 0-18 years old can enjoy a FREE lunch and fun activity at New Albany Central Library every weekday from June 2 - July 25. We’ll have a new craft or activity every day, starting at 11 AM next to the Cafe Area. Free lunch will be served from 12 PM - 12:45 PM. No registration is required. Just drop by!

    • CAC Family Cinema: 1:30-3:30pm. Grand Summer Finale is Toy Story. Taking inspiration from Sid's Lab we will be doing Junk Drawer Art. Please feel free to bring your own old toys and toy parts to use! A free snack & juice will be available.

    • Tails and Tales - Read to Pickles the Therapy Dog: 4-5pm. Galena. Come read to therapy dog, Pickles! She is a 4 year old lab who loves to have stories read to her! Anyone can come read to her! Each person who signs up will have a 10 minute time slot to read one on one for up to 6 readers each visit. Registration required.

    • Sensory Friendly Storytime: 4-4:45pm. Sensory Friendly Storytime is a special storytime for children who may have felt left out or nervous to go to other storytimes. Here, children are free to stand up, walk around, etc.

    • Hooked on Crochet: 5-7pm. In this 2-week complete beginners class you will learn how to make your very own crochet square! We will learn very important concepts such as the slip knot, chain stitch, and single crochet, as well as how to count stitches and know which type of yarn and hook to use in your future projects. Come learn a new skill with us and get “hooked” on crochet! Registration required.

  • Library Events - Harrison County

    • Wizard of Oz Escape Room: All Day, Palmyra Branch.

    • Take & Make: All Day, Elizabeth Branch. Crafts available all week.

    • Take & Make: All Day, Lanesville Branch. Crafts available all week.

    • Colorful Volcano: 2pm, Elizabeth Branch. Ready for an explosion of color? Sign up to make colorful volcanoes with lemons. Registration is required.

    • Lego Club: 3pm, Corydon Branch

  • Cultural Pass 2025: Cultural Pass offers young people ages 0-21 and their families in the Greater Louisville and Southern Indiana area access to participate in arts, culture, science, history, heritage, and nature activities provided by over 50 venues, free of charge, from May 31 through August 10, 2025. New for 2025 download the app to your phone.

  • Dinopalooza at the Zoo: May 17 - September 1, travel back 65 to 200 million years in time to meet iconic prehistoric animals! Encounter 23 roaring, breathing giants from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. Enjoy the world’s tallest, life-sized robotic dinosaurs — ranging from 5-foot-long baby triceratops to a 40-foot-long tyrannosaurus rex. Free with admission or membership.

  • Retro-Active-Vision: Works by Scott Scarboro Exhibition: 10am-7pm. The Cultural Arts Center. Exhibit open May 22nd-October 18th. Multimedia artist Scott Scarboro has utilized numerous materials and processes for self-expression for over 3 decades. This exhibit is not really a retrospective, but a sampling of his hand-glitched videos, mixed media sculptures and quilts from the past, his current sound and video creations, along with offerings to the universe for hope and luck for future conceptions.

  • Fossil Bed Discovery Hike: 1-2pm. Falls of the Ohio State Park. Discover the wonders of the fossil beds with a park naturalist. We will look at Devonian marine fossils and discuss how they lived, what they ate, and how and why they were preserved. Hike lasts 60 minutes. Meet on deck. We walk down 60 steps to fossil beds and return via ramp. (Or use ramp if participants have problems with steps.) Please wear shoes suitable for walking on rocks. Free event.

  • Get Fit, Floyd County!: 6-7pm. Kevin Hammersmith Park. Floyd County Parks and Recreation offers FREE outdoor group fitness classes on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings! All Get Fit, Floyd County! classes will take place at the KFC Stage and turf grass area, located between the main entrance to the New Albany Little League fields and the splash pad.

  • Music Bingo Mondays: 6:30-8:30pm. Derby City Pizza New Albany. Prizes: $5 for single, $5 for double bingo, $10 for coverall.

Tuesday, July 15

  • Library Events - Floyd County

    • Babies and Books: 10am-10:30am. Join us on Tuesday mornings as we sing, read board books, and have fun learning early literacy! Registration not required.

We will learn about Simon Biles, Serena Williams, and Claire Cashmore. Girls and boys of all ages are welcome! Recommended for ages 5 and up. Registration required.

    • Pajama Time Stories: 6pm-6:45pm. Join us for a Pajama Party every Tuesday evening at the New Albany Library! Come in your pajamas and bring a favorite blanket and stuffed animal if you like. Registration not required.

  • Library Events - Jeffersonville Branch

    • Under the Sea Silhouette Art: 1-2pm. Clarksville Branch. Join Ms. Monica for an artistic adventure under the sea! We will be making our very own "undersea silhouette" art works!  We recommend friends in grades K-2 have an adult accompany them to assist!

  • ½ Priced Bottle Tuesdays: 3-10pm, Wine Shop (New Albany). Every Tuesday ½ priced bottles of wine in house. Bring a friend (or two!) and come enjoy the Wine Shop.

  • Henryville Farmer’s Market: 5-7pm. 305 North Ferguson, Henryville, IN. Henryville Farmers Market opens May 6th and runs until October 23rd. The Market will be open every Tuesday and Thursday. Help support your local farmers and Small Businesses. We will also have Food Trucks at some of the Markets. We will let everyone know the week before what Food Truck will be there.

  • Pizza & Chill at Wine Shop: 5-9pm, Wine Shop (New Albany). Unwind with us every Tuesday from 5:00pm-9:00pm for our Pizza & Chill Special! Enjoy a glass of wine and a delicious flatbread pizza for just $20 . Plus, take advantage of our 1/2 off bottles of wine in-house to keep the good vibes flowing.

  • Kids Eat Free Tuesday: 4-10pm, RecBar 812 (New Albany). Every Tuesday, for every adult meal purchased, one child under the age of 12 can order a meal from the kid’s menu for free.

  • Library Events - Floyd County

    • Wiggle Wednesday Storytime: 10-10:45am. Join us at Galena on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. to wiggle our wiggles out, read stories and sing songs! Registration not required.

    • Pre-K Storytime : 11-11:45am. The Cultural Arts Center. Pre-K Storytime helps children ages 3-5 get ready for kindergarten with stories, songs, and fun activities that build early literacy and social skills. Siblings are welcome! No registration required.

    • Artistry Unleashed: Gustav Klimt Painting Tree of Life: 4:30-6pm. Join us at The Cultural Arts Center for an afternoon to learn about a different type of art each month, with a reading of a book about the art or artist for inspiration. You will be able to create your own imaginative masterpiece! All art pieces will be different, because everyone sees and feels art differently. This program is a chance to learn and be creative. All supplies will be provided! Registration required.

    • 4H eSports: 5-6pm. Level up your gaming and learning with the Floyd County 4-H eSports Program! Hosted at the Floyd County Public Library Auditorium, this program combines education and fun. Did you know that 71% of teens play video games, and eSports helps turn that passion into skills like teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking? Join us to game, grow, and connect! This is for grades 3rd-12th. Registration required. This event is Free and is a partnership between the Library and 4H. You will need to fill out registration twice. In addition to registering online here, please register online at the 4H website using the link v2.4honline.com. Even though this event is free, when you sign up it will ask for a "payment" option, be sure to select the "check" option for payment.     • Make-In-Take Star Spangled Wall Hanging: 5:30-6:45pm. Galena Branch. Join us for a creative evening of crafting and socializing.  This month we will be creating wooden painted star wall hanging with fabric accents. All supplies provided free, no special skills needed.  Paint is permanent, dress accordingly. Registration required.

    • Family Education Classes with CCYS: 6-8pm. Join us each Wednesday for free, in-person Family Education & Support Classes, presented by the Clark County Youth Shelter and Family Services. These supportive and engaging sessions are perfect for parents, guardians, and anyone in a caregiving role. The 9-week series covers topics such as community resources, healthy discipline, communication skills, understanding misbehavior, and setting children up for school success. Participants are entered into a monthly prize drawing for each session they attend!

  • Library Events - Jeffersonville Branch

    • Stop, Drop and Read! Fire Safety with the Vintage Fire Museum: 3-3:45pm. Ding! Ding! Ding! What do you do when the fire alarm goes off? Our neighbors from the Vintage Fire Museum are stopping in to talk about fire safety. Library shenanigans will ensue to help seal their wise words into the brain.

    • Literary Ladies Book Club: 6-7pm. The Clarksville Branch Library Literary Ladies Book Club is a book club for anyone interested in reading books that focus on family, friendship, and relationships that feature strong female characters. 

    • Feed Your Face Class with Natural Skincare: 6-7:30pm. Join us on this date for a class on natural skin care otherwise known as Feed Your Face! Your face and other body parts will thank you for it! Registration required.

Enjoy free Adventure Passports and activities on our most family-friendly cruise. And because it is a tradition, every excursion will end with an optional dance party just for fun. Tickets required.

  • Charlestown Farmer’s Market: 3-6pm. 1370 Monroe St., Charlestown, IN. Recurring weekly on Wednesdays.

  • Roald Dahl’s MATILDA THE MUSICAL: 6pm. Derby Dinner Playhouse. The story of an extraordinary girl who dares to take a stand and change her own destiny.   • Steamboat Supper: 7-9pm. Belle of Louisville Riverboats. Come aboard for a hearty and delicious meal while you enjoy the sights and sounds of the river as we show you the town from an all-new perspective—out on the water. Grab a cocktail from our full bar, then sit back, relax and enjoy your meal. This is a two-hour excursion.

Saturday, July 19

  • Library Events - Floyd County

    • A Horse is a Horse, Of Course, Of Course: 11am-12pm. Learn about notable artists who made art about horses, including depictions of horse-related sports, and then make and decorate your own jointed paper horse. For ages 8 and up; children under 10 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Registration is recommended.

  • Library Events - Jeffersonville Branch

    • Christmas in July - Santa Claus & Mrs. Claus at the Library: 12:30-1:30pm. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be making a special Christmas in July appearance to meet everyone! Santa also will be reading a few of everyone's favorite Christmas stories and, of course, passing out candy! 

    • Intro to Geocatching: 2-3pm. Local geocache enthusiast Bob Theiser will discuss this popular activity. Participants will learn what geocaching is, how they can participate locally, and meet others interested in geocaching. 

    • Open Reception for New Art Exhibit of Mr. Ryan Case: 2-4pm. Please join us on this date when we will be having a Reception in Ryan Case's Honor from 2:00-4:00 p.m.

  • New Albany Summer Farmer’s Market: 8am-12pm. 210 E Market St. New Albany. Summer Session of the New Albany Local Farmers Market - Wines, Slushies, baked goods, fresh veggies, flowers, meats, food truck, etc.

  • Super Hero Party: 9-10:30am. 300 Sprint Street, Jeffersonville. Get ready for an action-packed morning at our Super Hero Party—happening Saturday, July 19th starting at 9 AM! Bring your little heroes to meet their favorite masked crusaders in a fun, interactive meet-and-greet style event designed just for kids. They’ll have a chance to take photos, ask questions, and hang out with real-life versions of the heroes they admire—think flying capes, mighty shields, and lots of smiles. Whether they love spider-powered wall crawlers, patriotic protectors, or galactic guardians, there’s a hero here for everyone. Perfect for boys, girls, and kids of all ages—costumes encouraged!   • Jeffersonville Farmers Market: 9:30-12pm. Big Four Station. The Jeffersonville Farmers Market provides fresh, local products year round. Find us at Big Four Bridge on Saturdays from 9:30am-noon.

  • Saturdays on the Square: 10am-1pm. Check out local vendors on the Charlestown City Square every Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Saturdays on the Square Pop-up Market. Vendors range from local artists, craft makers, bakers, food, authors, civic groups, and more.

  • Afternoon Cruise: 12-2pm, Belle of Louisville Riverboats. Take it slow under the Southern sun with a delightful cruise along the Ohio River in Louisville. Your whole crew will enjoy the experience. Join us for a fun, informal excursion with free Adventure Passports for the kids. You can opt to enjoy a pre-selected boxed lunch on our Picnic Lunch or just sit back and enjoy the ride! Tickets required.

  • The Never Not Amazing Magic Show: Family Matinee: 12-1pm. J&B Magic Shop 610 E. Spring St. New Albany. Family Friendly Magic Show. So step right through the door in the back of our little shop and enter the intimate theater hidden behind it. Discover for yourself the mysteries it has to offer in this family-fun adventure of spectacular thrills, specifically created for all of the fans of our store who have been asking for a kid-friendly program. The Never Not Amazing Show promises an afternoon matinee that is jam-packed with incredible illusions the likes of which you may have never seen before. Tickets required.

We will look at Devonian marine fossils and discuss how they lived, what they ate, and how and why they were preserved. Hike lasts 60 minutes. Meet on deck. We walk down 60 steps to fossil beds and return via ramp. (Or use ramp if participants have problems with steps.) Please wear shoes suitable for walking on rocks. Free event.
