May 17 - September 1, travel back 65 to 200 million years in time to meet iconic prehistoric animals! Encounter 23 roaring, breathing giants from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. Enjoy the world’s tallest, life-sized robotic dinosaurs — ranging from 5-foot-long baby triceratops to a 40-foot-long tyrannosaurus rex. Free with admission or membership.
6-7pm. Kevin Hammersmith Park. Floyd County Parks and Recreation offers FREE outdoor group fitness classes on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings! All Get Fit, Floyd County! classes will take place at the KFC Stage and turf grass area, located between the main entrance to the New Albany Little League fields and the splash pad.
6pm. Derby Dinner Playhouse. Aug 13, 2025 - Sep 28, 2025. This exciting new Broadway Musical chronicles the real-life experiences of the people of Gander, Newfoundland, and the almost 7,000 airline passengers who were forced to land there when US air space was closed on September 11, 2001. Twelve actors tell the story of both the Islanders and the Plane People, revealing the fear and uncertainty that came with the terrorist attacks – as well as the profound generosity and compassion of strangers. Tickets required.

It’s a Small World Storytime: 11am-12pm. You're invited to join us each week as we learn about themes like kindness, empathy, and family through different stories, songs, and crafts from around the world. This storytime is designed with kids ages 3-6 in mind, but all kids and families are welcome. Join us every Tuesday at 11am to discover if it really is a small world after all.
Pajama Time Stories: 6pm-6:45pm. Join us for a Pajama Party every Tuesday evening at the New Albany Library! Come in your pajamas and bring a favorite blanket and stuffed animal if you like. Registration not required.

6-8:30pm. 904 Main St. Charlestown IN. The City of Charlestown's annual FOOD TRUCK CHALLENGE returns to the City Square on Friday, Aug. 22 for plenty of food truck options, cool cars, and live music! There will be six food trucks – Acme Chicken Bowls, Mar Concessions, The Scoop, Taqueria Hernandez, That's My Dog, and Yello Sno – vying for all the bragging rights. Food trucks will open at 6 p.m. Providing live music will be the talented "The Get Down," fusing early '60s rock and roll with surf, garage, and a splash of exotica. The car show host will be the Backyard Classics (cars can arrive starting at 5 p.m.). The best part? YOU the customer will be the judge of the best Food Truck at the event! The winning truck will rock a custom championship necklace.

9:30-12pm. Big Four Station. The Jeffersonville Farmers Market provides fresh, local products year round. Find us at Big Four Bridge on Saturdays from 9:30am-noon.
10am-1pm. Check out local vendors on the Charlestown City Square every Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Saturdays on the Square Pop-up Market. Vendors range from local artists, craft makers, bakers, food, authors, civic groups, and more.
10am-6pm. Speed Fellowship Hall. 328 US-31 Sellersburg, IN. Art Near Speed Park is a showcase of local artists and craftsmen held inside the Speed Fellowship Hall (next to Speed Park) in Sellersburg, Indiana! There will be a curated selection of artists selling their unique works, prizes for artists and patrons! Free event.
10am-4pm. Falls of the Ohio State Park. Combining the best of archaeology and paleontology while giving kids and adults alike a unique, hands-on experience of both sciences. Fresh shale at our new collecting pile location; water to clean your rocks. Free event.
1-2pm. Falls of the Ohio State Park. Discover the wonders of the fossil beds with a park naturalist. We will look at Devonian marine fossils and discuss how they lived, what they ate, and how and why they were preserved. Hike lasts 60 minutes. Meet on deck. We walk down 60 steps to fossil beds and return via ramp. (Or use ramp if participants have problems with steps.) Please wear shoes suitable for walking on rocks. Free event.

Watercolors - Art at the Falls
8am-5pm. Falls of the Ohio State Park. Art at the Falls features watercolors this month. Join artist/naturalist Mike Gibson and learn how to paint with watercolors. Meets in the picnic area. $2 program fee covered by a Falls of the Ohio Foundation grant.
8:30am-1pm. Falls of the Ohio State Park. This August, Ohio River Way and River City Paddle Sports are teaming up with local partners, including Falls of the Ohio Foundation, to celebrate the recent designation of the Ohio River Way as a National Water Trail by giving back to the river that connects us all. This collaborative effort brings together paddlers, conservationists, and community members for a hands-on adventure in stewardship and celebration, honoring the Ohio River as a treasured and trail-worthy natural resource. Volunteers can sign up for a seat in one of our 30-foot voyageur canoes—15 spots are available each day and may fill quickly. You’re also encouraged to bring your own paddle craft or motorboat to join the cleanup. If you bring your own boat, you’ll be responsible for its transport and we ask that you help transport trash back to the boat ramp. Whether you’re in a voyageur canoe or your own boat, please sign up using the link so we can provide enough shirts and cleanup supplies for everyone! Registration required.
