Toddler Time: 10-11am. Join us for stories, rhymes, songs, and other activities. This storytime is designed for Toddlers, but all are welcome!

Family Movie - Home Alone: 1-3pm. Join us at the Carnegie Library Cultural Arts Center for a Family Movie event showing of Home Alone. We will watch the film and then make a golden tooth and garland craft. We hope to see you there! Registration required.
Meet & Make Mondays: 3-6pm. Cultural Arts Center.
Sensory Friendly Storytime: 4-4:45pm. Sensory Friendly Storytime is a special storytime for children who may have felt left out or nervous to go to other storytimes.

8:30am-4:30pm. December 22-January 2. Kentucky Science Center. When school is out, Science Camp is in with exhibits, experiments, movies, classes, labs and FUN! At camp, your child will have the opportunity to develop skills and make friendships that will last a lifetime. All campers are encouraged to play, tinker, and investigate the world around them with plenty of time to explore.
1-3pm. Dec. 29 & 30. Louisville Zoo. Let the Zoo help you start the new year fresh and turn some of your old things into new ones! Zoo staff will help you create enrichment items for your pets or items to support North American Songbirds in your yard. Make a snuffle mat, cat toy, birdfeeder and more! Bring in your own items from home or let the Zoo provide them for you. This drop-in program is free with zoo admission or membership.
Paristown's 7th Annual Fête de Noël
12-9pm. Running through January 4, 2026. Paristown announced the 7th Annual Fête de Noël, presented by Stock Yards Bank & Trust will return on Nov.28th and will be open through Jan. 4th. The five-week winter holiday festival includes the 100’ x 50’ outdoor Crystal Ice-Skating Rink located in the heart of Paristown. Fête de Noël will also feature the Kroger Fresh Express – Paristown’s charming trackless train for young and old alike, Santa’s House with Santa visits and photos, the Brent Street Holiday Market with 20 local market shoppes, all in a delightful atmosphere filled with festive decorations, holiday music, numerous special events, and tasty food and beverage options to please everyone.

New Year’s Eve Eve Party: 11am-12pm. Join us at the Carnegie Library Cultural Arts Center to celebrate the end of 2025 and bring in 2026. You will make your own New Year's crown, play minute to win it games, and help us count down with a ball drop at noon! We look forward to seeing you! Registration required.

Waterfront Botanical Gardens. Stroll through pathways illuminated with giant glowing flowers, shimmering snowflakes, twinkling archways, and sparkling deer. Write a letter to Santa, create a festive craft, and even meet Santa and Mrs. Claus! They will be present all nights of the event until Christmas. After that, they will return to the North Pole! Warm drinks and sweet treats will be for sale at the outdoor Jingle All the Way Café, and Frosty’s Tinsel Tavern, a new bar inside the Graeser Family Education Center will offer beer, wine, and festive signature cocktails for purchase. Tickets required.
7-9pm. Dog Haus Biergarten New Albany. JEOPARDY! Bar League, the official bar trivia experience from America’s Favorite Quiz Show is at Dog Haus Biergarten every Tuesday! Free event.

10am-2pm. Kentucky Science Center. Let’s make every second count so ring in the new year a little early with a celebration on New Year’s Eve that’s perfectly timed for families! We’ll discover the science behind how we tell time through engaging hands-on activities, interactive exhibits, shows and demonstrations. Join us as we welcome the new year with discovery and science. Free with general admission.

Lights Under Louisville, presented by Louisville Mega Cavern and Fifth Third Bank, is more than just a drive-through light show—it’s a merry, subterranean spectacle. You'll descend into the earth and be dazzled by over 7 million twinkling lights, glowing lasers, and festive themed displays that transform the cavern into a glowing wonderland of holiday cheer. From your cozy sleigh on wheels, you'll cruise through a magical maze of yuletide joy. Roll down your windows to some holiday music, explore enchanting holiday scenes, and discover new surprises around every corner. 8:50pm. Kentucky Kingdom. Kentucky Kingdom is the perfect place to ring in the New Year with your family, without staying up too late. We'll celebrate 2026 with an amazing New Year's Eve Fireworks Spectacular set to music. Fireworks will launch up to 350 feet in the air and can be seen from anywhere in the park! Enjoy a 10-minute long show and a choreographed music track. Hosted by the one and only Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks, boasting displays of vivid color, blended sound, intricate coordination and topped with a breathtaking finale. This show will keep guests on their toes, not knowing what will come next. A Rozzi display is separated from the competition by the design style and artistic presence, resulting in a fireworks show like no other. Fireworks viewing is included with park admission. 1-2:30pm. Falls of the Ohio State Park. Kick off the New Year with a little exercise and exploration at the Falls of the Ohio State Park from 1:00 to 2:30 PM. Hike along the upper fossil beds and learn about Devonian Sea life, plants and animals that live along the river’s edge. Bring binoculars to look for winter birds. The Interpretive Center is closed on January 1. Inclement weather will cancel the program due to the hazardous nature of a slippery, uneven, rocky surface. $2 pay-to-park fee applies, but the program is free. Observation Deck, 1.5 hours, free.

Sketchbook Saturdays: 1:30-2:30pm. Ready to unlock your inner artist? This engaging drawing course invites you to slow down, observe the world with fresh eyes, and discover the joy of creating from scratch. Whether you’re a total beginner or looking to refresh your skills, this class will guide you through the essential building blocks of drawing, no fancy supplies or prior experience needed! This drawing course is designed to introduce students to the fundamental skills, concepts, and practices of drawing. We will start with low-supply, high-impact activities that get your creativity flowing while teaching you to see like an artist. From there, you’ll explore the core elements of line, value, and texture before moving on to more advanced projects in perspective, still life, gesture, and portrait drawing. Each week, you’ll grow your confidence through a balanced mix of, quick and playful sketchbook exercises, exploratory techniques that spark curiosity and discovery, and in-depth projects that challenge and inspire. 2-3pm. Falls of the Ohio State Park. Our Junior Paleontologist program is similar to what some national parks offer but focuses on our area. This family program is geared for the same age as our Lewis & Clark Junior Ranger program – ages 6 – 13. New guided activity booklet is now in use. Join us as we have some fun learning about fossils. The $7 program fee is covered by a Falls of the Ohio Foundation grant and includes admission into the exhibit gallery. Meets in the classroom.
