Monday, May 19

  • Library Events - Floyd County

    • Toddler Time: 10-11am. Join us for stories, rhymes, songs, and other activities. This story time is designed for Toddlers, but all are welcome!

    • Sensory Friendly Story time: 4-4:45pm. Sensory Friendly Storytime is a special storytime for children who may have felt left out or nervous to go to other storytimes.

    • Monday Mystery Book Club: 6-7pm. Join us for a lively discussion of mystery books each month. From cozy mysteries to detective novels to thrillers, chat about your prime suspects, the crime, characters, and more. You do not have to finish the book before you come, but be warned: spoilers lie ahead. 

    • Beginner Mat Yoga with the YMCA: 6:30-7:30pm. New to yoga? Join us for a free beginner yoga class at The Floyd County Library! Learn about yoga basics, terminology, and postures. Practice yoga at your own level in a safe and supportive environment with guidance from a registered yoga teacher from the YMCA (200RYT). Modifications will be offered as you practice each pose. Yoga mats will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own, or any optional props, straps, and sweater in case you get cold.

  • Music Bingo Mondays: 6:30-8:30pm. Derby City Pizza New Albany. Prizes: $5 for single, $5 for double bingo, $10 for coverall.

  • Songs From Movies & The British Invasion: 7-8:30pm. Edwardsville United Methodist Church, 4830 IN-62, Georgetown, IN.The Community Music Alliance Choirs performs your favorite movie music and songs from the British Invasion in this exciting Double Feature! Free admission.

Tuesday, May 20

  • Library Events - Floyd County

    • Babies and Books: 10am-10:30am. Join us on Tuesday mornings as we sing, read board books, and have fun learning early literacy! Registration not required.

    • It’s a Small World Storytime: 11am-12pm. You're invited to join us each week as we learn about themes like kindness, empathy, and family through different stories, songs, and crafts from around the world. This storytime is designed with kids ages 3-6 in mind, but all kids and families are welcome. Join us every Tuesday at 11am to discover if it really is a small world after all. Registration not required.

    • 4H eSports: 4:30-6:30pm. Level up your gaming and learning with the Floyd County 4-H eSports Program! Hosted monthly at the Floyd County Public Library Auditorium, this program combines education and fun. Did you know that 71% of teens play video games, and esports helps turn that passion into skills like teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking? Join us to game, grow, and connect! This month is a Mario Kart Tournament for grades 3rd-12th. Registration required.

    • Read Between the Spines Book Club: 5:30-6:45pm. Do you like talking about books? Join us at the Galena Branch for our new book club for adults! This month's selection is The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. Copies of the book are available to check out at Galena Digital Library for registered participants. Registration required.

    • Pajama Time Stories: 6pm-6:45pm. Join us for a Pajama Party every Tuesday evening at the New Albany Library! Come in your pajamas and bring a favorite blanket and stuffed animal if you like. Registration not required.

  • Library Events - Jeffersonville Branch

    • Basic Sewing Skills: 5-7:15pm. So you want to learn to sew! A great opportunity awaits at your Library. Whether or not you've operated a sewing machine, or if you've attempted simple sewing projects and weren't satisfied with the results, you're invited to attend our class to learn basic sewing skills. Registration required.

    ½ Priced Bottle Tuesdays: 3-10pm, Wine Shop (New Albany). Every Tuesday ½ priced bottles of wine in house. Bring a friend (or two!) and come enjoy the Wine Shop.

  • Henryville Farmer’s Market: 5-7pm. 305 North Ferguson, Henryville, IN. Henryville Farmers Market opens May 6th and runs until October23rd. The Market will be open every Tuesday and Thursday. Help support your local farmers and Small Businesses. We will also have Food Trucks at some of the Markets. We will let everyone know the week before what Food Truck will be there.

  • Pizza & Chill at Wine Shop: 5-9pm, Wine Shop (New Albany). Unwind with us every Tuesday from 5:00pm-9:00pm for our Pizza & Chill Special! Enjoy a glass of wine and a delicious flatbread pizza for just $20 . Plus, take advantage of our 1/2 off bottles of wine in-house to keep the good vibes flowing.

  • Half Baked: 6pm. Derby Dinner Playhouse. Retired brothers Jay and Sonny Allen move to central Florida with their wives to open a cafe. When the business starts to fail and their nest egg dries up, they decide to take drastic action and generate some cash. Action that includes murder for hire and baking cannabis into the appetizers to ‘stimulate’ business! And when an old boyfriend and a Latvian loan shark arrive on the scene, things really get complicated. This new comedy is a sure recipe for hilarity! Tickets required.

  • Kids Eat Free Tuesday: 4-10pm, RecBar 812 (New Albany). Every Tuesday, for every adult meal purchased, one child under the age of 12 can order a meal from the kid’s menu for free.

  • Music Bingo: 7pm, Dog Haus Biergarten New Albany. Join us every Tuesday for MUSIC BINGO!

Wednesday, May 21

  • Library Events - Floyd County

    • Wiggle Wednesday Storytime: 10-10:45am. Join us at Galena on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. to wiggle our wiggles out, read stories and sing songs! Registration not required.

    • Kid's Club : 4:30-5:30pm. Come hang out each Wednesday 4:30pm to 5:30pm and enjoy a different activity each week. Activities will range from play doh to crafts to LEGOs! For Kids ages 6-11 years old. No registration required.

    • The Artistic Review: 4:30-6pm. The Cultural Arts Center. Join us at The Cultural Arts Center to explore newspaper articles and interpret them in an artistic way. You can use your imagination through poetry, crafts, or other mediums of art. We can't wait to see what you come up with! All supplies will be provided. Registration is required.

    • Sew...What's Going On? Quilt Block-A-Month: 5:30-7:30pm. Are you ready to learn beginning quilt techniques? Join this monthly class for kids! (Ages 9-18). In this class you will learn beginner quilting techniques. You will learn hand sewing, how to cut a pattern, how to use a sewing machine, and much more. In the process, you will be making a different quilt square each month. Each quilt square can be a stand alone, used as a hot pad or a square in a larger project. The class will be offered monthly, with a different quilt square taught at each meeting. Participants may choose to attend one class, many classes or all twelve. Those choosing to make all 12 quilt squares will have a complete "calendar quilt" at the end of the year. Class registration is required each month. (Please register only your child aged 9-18 so we can purchase the correct amount of materials. The accompanying adult should NOT be registered.) All registrants aged 9-12 must attend with a responsible adult.

    • Family Education Classes with CCYS: 6-8pm. Join us each Wednesday for free, in-person Family Education & Support Classes, presented by the Clark County Youth Shelter and Family Services. These supportive and engaging sessions are perfect for parents, guardians, and anyone in a caregiving role. The 9-week series covers topics such as community resources, healthy discipline, communication skills, understanding misbehavior, and setting children up for school success. Participants are entered into a monthly prize drawing for each session they attend!

  • Library Events - Jeffersonville Branch

    • Bad Art Wednesday: 3:30-4:30pm. A freestyle craft event for tweens and teens. Everyone has access to our crafting and art materials. The “worst” piece of art will win the Bad Artist's Crown and have your art displayed for a month. 

    • Literacy Ladies Book Club: 6-7pm. The Clarksville Branch Library Literary Ladies Book Club is a book club for anyone interested in reading books that focus on family, friendship, and relationships that feature strong female characters. 

  • Charlestown Farmer’s Market: 3-6pm. 1370 Monroe St., Charlestown, IN. Recurring weekly on Wednesdays.

  • Recbar 812 Bingo: 7pm, RecBar 812 (New Albany). Free to play. Free to win! Come join us every Wednesday for Bar Bingo. Prizes for every round. One final coverall round every week for a rolling $50 jackpot. If no one wins, the $50 moves on to the next week! $2 off all adult slushies! This is a 21+ event to participate.

  • Last Call Trivia: 7pm, Dog Haus Biergarten New Albany. Join us every Wednesday for Last Call Trivia! Games start at 7pm. First Place gets a $30 Dog Haus Gift Card, Second Place gets a $20 Dog Haus Gift Card, and Third Place takes home a $10 Dog Haus Gift Card.

  • Trivia Wednesdays at OLPH: 7-9pm. Our Lady of Perpetual Hops. Join us for an evening of brain-teasing fun, friendly competition, and great prizes! Whether you're a trivia master or just looking for a good time, this is your chance to put your knowledge to the test.

Thursday, May 22

  • Library Events - Floyd County

    • Music and Movement: 10-10:45am. Join us at Galena on Thursdays to help your child learn some basic rhythms that will help with early literacy before they begin Kindergarten. Ms. Ashley will use bells, rhythm sticks, scarves and more for these exercises! Registration not required.

    • Kids Coding Club: 4:30-5:30pm. Join us for an introduction to coding and computational thinking. We will be using the non-profit organization, Code.org. There are limited spaces available, registration is required. For ages 7-10. Registration required.

    • Opening Reception, Retro-Active-Vision: Works by Scott Scarboro: 5-7pm. The Cultural Arts Center. Multimedia artist Scott Scarboro has utilized numerous materials and processes for self-expression for over 3 decades. This exhibit is not really a retrospective, but a sampling of his hand-glitched videos, mixed media sculptures and quilts from the past, his current sound and video creations, along with offerings to the universe for hope and luck for future conceptions. Enjoy complimentary appetizers, non-alcoholic beverages, and a live performance by the artist as you explore Retro-Active-Vision.

    • Laser Engraving 101: 5-6:30pm. Galena Branch. Did you know that you can use our laser engraver to personalize gifts, create branded items, and design unique products? Join us for our Laser Engraving 101 class. Learn how to use the Epilog Laser and take home a mini project! Participants must be at least 16 years of age and basic computer skills are required. Registration required.

    • Teen Scene: 6-7:30pm. Hang out with us every Thursday from 6:00 to 7:30pm in the Teen Scene! Take a break in the middle of the week with a new activity, game, craft, or anything else we dream up, plus snacks! All teens are welcome (11-18 years old). Registration not required.

  • Library Events - Jeffersonville Branch

    • Toddler Storytime: 10:30-11:15am. Join us for a fun storytime all about art! This storytime will get us excited about our 2025 "Color Our World" Summer Reading Club. We will read stories, sing songs and make a craft.

    • Home Buying Basics: 6-7pm. Buying a home is the biggest investment most people will make, and homeownership is one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. Having the right team is key.

  • Abbey Road on the River: 11am-11pm. Big Four Station Park, Jeffersonville. Abbey Road on the River, affectionately referred to as "AROTR", the world's largest Beatles-inspired music festival, is held each year over Memorial Day weekend at Big Four Station Park in Jeffersonville, IN. Attendees will enjoy over 250 Beatles and 60’s themed concerts performed by 50 different bands from around the world. Attendees can also enjoy a Beatles-merchandise marketplace, on-site food and beverages, retail and craft vendors, interactive art and activities for kids. Tickets required.

  • Twilight Thursday: 5pm. Churchill Downs. Twilight Thursdays return with live Thoroughbred racing, $2 select domestic beer, live music and an array of locally popular food trucks in The Paddock Plaza each Thursday of the Spring Meet! Tickets required.

  • Silent Book Club: 6-8pm, Wine Shop (New Albany). Having a “silent” book club allows everyone flexibility to come and go as they please each week while getting to see both new and familiar faces. This means everyone gets to bring their current read and read at their own pace. We will be pouring some fun wines and sharing some yummy snacks! Feel free to bring whatever you need to be comfortable!

  • Feud Thursdays: 7pm, Dog Haus Biergarten New Albany. Join us every Thursday at 7:00pm for Last Call Feud Night! First Place gets a $30 Dog Haus Gift Card, Second Place gets a $20 Dog Haus Gift Card, and Third Place takes home a $10 Dog Haus Gift Card.

    • Friends of the Library Book Sale: 10am-1pm. The Friends of the Library, which is a volunteer support group of the Jeffersonville Township Public Library, host a Book Sale four times a month. The sales are held on the 2nd & 4th Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Our book sale room is located at the South end of the main library (closest to Court Avenue) on the lower level.

  • Date Night Magic with Caleb Wiles and Kyle Littleton: 7-8pm. J&B Magic Shop and Theater. Join us for an incredible evening of mind-blowing magic and hilarious comedy at J&B Magic Theater! (This show is rated PG-13 and not recommend for children.) Tickets required.

  • Anchors Away Fridays: 8-10pm, Belle of Louisville Riverboats. Leave your stress behind on the shore! Grab a cocktail, sit back and relax to a DJ spinning tunes with a Yacht Rock theme.     • Painting Away Your Fears with Artist Ryan Case: 11am-12pm. Children from Kindergarten through fourth grade are invited to join artist Ryan Case for Art Class@Your Library from 11 a.m.- 12 p.m. in the Youth Services Activity Room of Jeffersonville Township Public Library Jeffersonville location. Registration required.

    • Crocheting Class: 12-2pm. Join us if you would like to either learn how to crochet or just fine tune your skills!

  • New Albany Summer Farmer’s Market: 8am-12pm. 210 E Market St. New Albany. Summer Session of the New Albany Local Farmers Market - Wines, Slushies, baked goods, fresh veggies, flowers, meats, food truck, etc.

  • Yoga at the Falls: 9-10am. Falls of the Ohio State Park. Escape the hustle and bustle and join us for the Falls of the Ohio Foundation’s Summer Yoga Series. Enjoy yoga on the deck this summer overlooking the majestic Falls of the Ohio with the Louisville skyline as your backdrop. Classes are inclusive for all skill levels and are free to Foundation members.  Non-members are asked to make a donation.  Remember to bring your mat.  Please register by sending us an email at foundation@fallsoftheohio.org with your contact information and dates you plan to attend.  Classes will be moved inside the Interpretive Center in case of inclement weather.

  • Saturdays on the Square: 10am-1pm. Check out local vendors on the Charlestown City Square every Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Saturdays on the Square Pop-up Market. Vendors range from local artists, craft makers, bakers, food, authors, civic groups, and more.

  • Star Valley Strawberry Festival: 10am-10pm. Borden Community Park. Come hungry and enjoy an incredible variety of food from our many vendors. Plus, satisfy your sweet tooth at Strawberry Lane, featuring chocolate-covered strawberries, strawberry smoothies, our famous Strawberry Shortcake Bar, and more! This year’s festival is packed with exciting events, including the Berry Run 5K, Little Mister & Miss Shortcake Contest, Pie Eating Contests, a dessert auction, and the Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony. Plus, enjoy a full day of live music, featuring talented artists and our 2025 headliner, Top Shelf—a high-energy cover band taking the main stage at 7 PM! Abbey Road on the River, affectionately referred to as "AROTR", the world's largest Beatles-inspired music festival, is held each year over Memorial Day weekend at Big Four Station Park in Jeffersonville, IN. Attendees will enjoy over 250 Beatles and 60’s themed concerts performed by 50 different bands from around the world. Attendees can also enjoy a Beatles-merchandise marketplace, on-site food and beverages, retail and craft vendors, interactive art and activities for kids. Tickets required.

  • Afternoon Cruise: 12-2pm, Belle of Louisville Riverboats. Take it slow under the Southern sun with a delightful cruise along the Ohio River in Louisville. Your whole crew will enjoy the experience. Join us for a fun, informal excursion with free Adventure Passports for the kids. You can opt to enjoy a pre-selected boxed lunch on our Picnic Lunch or just sit back and enjoy the ride! Tickets required.

  • Fossil Bed Discovery Hike: 1-2pm. Falls of the Ohio State Park. Kick off the Falls of the Ohio hiking season with our first 1 PM hike. Discover the wonders of the fossil beds with a park naturalist. We will look at Devonian marine fossils and discuss how they lived, what they ate, how / why they were preserved. Hike lasts 60 minutes. Free event.

  • Looking for Mississippian Fossils – Paleontology Explorer: 3-4pm. Falls of the Ohio State Park. Mississippian-age fossils are among the easiest to collect. Park paleontologist, Alan Goldstein, will show different types of fossils and where to look for them. Free event.

  • Casual Cocktails & Coffee: 4pm. Village Coffeehouse, Georgetown, IN. Rain or shine, come relax and enjoy some themed seasonal cocktails, latte flights, and good company. Bring a book, bring a board game, bring your BFFL, bring your husband, bring your mom, bring no one at all....it doesn't matter!! Spend this special evening with us Saturday May 24th!

  • Moonlight Cruise: 8-10pm, Belle of Louisville Riverboats. There are few things as beautiful as Louisville in the moonlight aboard the Mary M. Miller. Enjoy yourself out on the river with a gentle breeze and a delicious cocktail and leave your troubles behind! Tickets required.

  • Abbey Road on the River: 11am-11pm. Big Four Station Park, Jeffersonville. Abbey Road on the River, affectionately referred to as "AROTR", the world's largest Beatles-inspired music festival, is held each year over Memorial Day weekend at Big Four Station Park in Jeffersonville, IN. Attendees will enjoy over 250 Beatles and 60’s themed concerts performed by 50 different bands from around the world. Attendees can also enjoy a Beatles-merchandise marketplace, on-site food and beverages, retail and craft vendors, interactive art and activities for kids. Tickets required.

  • Day at the Races: 12:45pm. Churchill Downs. Tickets required.

We will look at Devonian marine fossils and discuss how they lived, what they ate, how / why they were preserved. Hike lasts 60 minutes. Meet on deck. We walk down 60 steps to fossil beds and return via ramp. Free event.

  • Sunday Funday Cruise: 1-3pm, Belle of Louisville Riverboats. Turn your Sunday into #SundayFunDay aboard the historic Belle of Louisville! Cruise away the afternoon as you take in the sights and sounds of the Ohio River. Whether you choose to enjoy a delicious buffet meal option or just sit back and feel the breeze on our outdoor decks, wrap up your weekend your way.

  • Natural Mandalas - Art at the Falls: 3-4pm. Falls of the Ohio State Park. Artists will use materials from nature to create their own mandalas. We will provide a wide variety of natural materials from which to choose. Led by former Falls naturalist and artist, Mike Gibson. Free event.
