Spend the Day at Huber’s Orchard & Winery
My family loves to visit Huber’s! There’s something for everyone and the events change throughout the year. Here is our itinerary for a day at the fall festival as a family.
Arrive at 10am
This is when things open! Get there asap to get the best spot in line, etc. You might want to even get there a little earlier than that so you can be ready to hit the ground running by 10am.
First up: U-Pick Apples, Pumpkins, & Flowers
First you’re going to head over to get in line for U-Pick. Purchase your tickets first, then get in line for the tractor you want to start with - the pumpkins are one ride, the apples are the other. Pro tip: both tractors will go past the flowers on the route back, just ask for them to drop you off once you get back on after doing your U-pick. You’ll find bags for the apples out in the orchards! They will give you a cup for flowers before you head out to the fields.
Farm Market
Next, head into the farm market. You’ll naturally walk through here after U-pick to pay for what you picked. You’ll find all sorts of produce and goodies. After you walk through here I recommend just taking it back to your car since you’re already near the parking lot! That way you don’t have to lug it around with you.
Apple Cider Donuts & Coffee
Right outside the Farm Market is a stand for donuts. The apple cider donuts sell out FAST so don’t wait until you leave to grab these! You can even see them making them right in front of you. Grab a dozen and grab a coffee right across the parking lot if you need a pick me up. Take this moment to snap some pics in the photo ops in the parking lot.
Grab a Pitcher
Head inside the winery store to grab a pitcher of sangria! The blackberry sangria is a fan favorite and you can find it year round. If sangria isn’t your jam, don’t worry - there is an endless selection of cocktails, wine and bourbons for you to pick from.
Feed the Fish
Take your drinks and stroll on over to the Coy pond. Make sure you have quarters or get change from inside so you can feed the fish! This is such a fun activity for the kiddos and can help kill some time before you’re ready for lunch.
Lunch Time
Your options for food are pretty vast. They have food trucks set up all over the property. However, our favorite is the flatbread pizza. For fall festival there is a tent setup outside the winery store to place your order. You’ll be given a pager after ordering, and when it buzzes you head inside the Starlight Cafe to pick it up! If you want burgers, chicken tenders, sandwiches etc. you can find those at the other food trucks. Highly recommend sending someone to find a table to post up so you get a spot while someone else goes to order the food!
Wine/Spirits Tasting
After you finish lunch, I recommend checking out the outdoor wine & spirits tasting down on the lawn. You can also go inside to do a tasting, but if you have kids with you its way easier to do it outside. Plus, the views and atmosphere are worth it!! You’ll want to pick up tickets at the trailer right outside the big white tent first. When you do a tasting at the big white tent, you can mix and match wines & spirits are just do one or the other - at the inside tasting you have to go one route or the other. So if mixing is your jam, this is the spot for you!
Jam to Live Music
Live music can be found right next to the big white tent as well as on the patio right outside the winery. You have options! Our kids loved to run around and dance. We also saw people playing football, bringing yard games, folding chairs, etc. Its a big lawn and seating goes fast so bringing your own is smart!
Farm Park
I recommend ending your day at the Farm Park or it may be really hard to leave it. Once our kids are in they don’t want to leave, so its easier to get there near closing or when we’re close to leaving so its an easier exit (parents, iykyk). Season passes are available for the park, or you can just buy a single day ticket - but just know that this does require an admission ticket.
Huber’s Orchard & Winery is such a fun place to be in the fall! However they have so much to offer YEAR ROUND so be sure to watch their events calendar for things happening this winter!
