Bouncetime at SIGS

9am-12pm. SIGS Gym New Albany. Offered weekdays M-F. FUN OPEN PLAY FOR FRIENDS UNDER 54". Two large bounce houses, a huge slide, trampolines, a foam pit, and lots of space to run, jump, and play! $8/child or $40 punch card for 6 visits or multiple kids.

Tot Time at SIGS

9:30-11am. SIGS Gym New Albany. Offered Mondays & Wednesdays. Limited to first 20 child participants. Our TOT SPOT program is for children 3 and under for socialization, movement, and music. Students will meet in our Launch Pad UPSTAIRS and complete some obstacles, and there will be music, games, and storytime. One adult may enter with a child.

Spaghetti for Cignetti

5:30pm. Donum Dei Brewery. Come celebrate this amazing football season. Spaghetti, Salad, Etc.

IU vs Miami Watch Party

6pm. Rails & Ales Brewhouse. We’re opening up on a Monday for the National Championship! Come cheer on IU at Rails & Ales , enjoy $5 Gameday Lagers and Happy Hour Apps all night! We open at 6pm, get here before kickoff to get the best seats!

IU Watch Party

6:30pm. The Enchanted Forest & Music Hall. We’re opening on a Monday, January 19 at 6:30 PM for a special IU Football Championship Watch Party, and you’re invited to cheer the Hoosiers on in epic fashion.

BCS National Championship Watch Party

7pm. The Slice Georgetown. Join us to watch the Hoosiers fight for a chance to win a national championship! Reservations are strongly suggested!

  • Babies & Books: 10-10:35am. Join us on Tuesday mornings for songs and stories! For ages 2 and under.

  • It’s a Small World Storytime: 11am-12pm. You're invited to join us each week as we learn about themes like kindness, empathy, and family through different stories, songs, and crafts from around the world. This storytime is designed with kids ages 3-6 in mind, but all kids and families are welcome. Join us every Tuesday at 11am to discover if it really is a small world after all. 

  • All About Art for Elementary Students: 4:30-5:30pm. If you're in elementary school (Grade K-4), join us at the Cultural Arts Center to learn about different art techniques and artists each month. For the month of January, we will be learning about Jackson Pollock and his technique of drip painting. These paintings embody the principles of Abstract Expressionism. All supplies will be provided. We hope to see you there! Registration required.

  • Pajama Time Stories: 6-6:45pm. Join us for a Pajama Party every Tuesday evening at the New Albany Library! Come in your pajamas and bring a favorite blanket and stuffed animal if you like. The children's librarians will lead our Pajama Storytime with fun "bedtime" stories, rhymes and songs. Make this special storytime a part of your family's regular weekly bedtime routine.

  • Mother Goose On the Loose: 1-2pm. Mother Goose on the Loose is an early literacy, interactive, lapsit storytime that uses rhymes and songs to help pre-reading children get ready for school and reading. This fun-filled 30 minute session, for infants to 23 months and caregivers (older siblings are welcome), will incorporate music, movement, repetition, positive reinforcement, nursery rhymes, puppets, musical instruments, colored scarves, and short book readings.  After the storytime, we'll have 30 minutes of play and social time.  *Adult participation is required in order to strengthen bonds between caregiver and child. It is most beneficial when children experience the program on a weekly basis and each caregiver will be given a lesson to follow along and practice at home.

  • Read Between the Spines Book Club: 5:30-6:45pm. Do you like talking about books? Join us at the Galena Branch for our new book club for adults! This month's selection is "Atonement" by Ian McEwan . Copies of the book are available to check out at Galena Digital Library for registered participants. Registration required.

  • Baby’s Afternoon Out: 1-2pm. Cultural Arts Center. Join us for an afternoon of early literacy fun for babies! There will be stories, songs, and sensory activities for babies to interact with at the end of the program. Registration required.

  • Kids Club: 4-5pm. Come hang out each Wednesday and enjoy a different activity each week. Activities will range from play-doh to crafts to LEGOs! For Kids ages 6-11 years old. No registration required.

  • Watercolor Open Studio: Cultural Arts Center. 4-5:30pm. Join us at the Carnegie Library Cultural Arts Center to learn the basic techniques of watercolor painting. All supplies included. We hope to see you there! Registration required.

The Bunco Squad Rolls Again

The Bunco Squad is back!  It is August, and Suzie’s turn to host.  She thinks she is hosting a normal bunco night, but with this bunch, normal is never . . .well. . .normal.  Join the ladies you fell in love with for another laugh-filled and heart-felt evening of FUN. Written by Derby Dinner’s very own, Jim Hesselman, this comedy is a slice of life with characters we all can recognize from our own neighborhoods.   • Move & Groove Storytime: 10:30-11:30am. Join us at Galena on Thursdays as we move and groove to some fun books, basic rhythms and rhymes, and different music genres!  We'll use things like a drum, hand bells, rhythm sticks, egg shakers, or scarves in this lively and interactive storytime.  Moove & Groove will help build early literacy skills, social interaction, and blossoming young music lovers!

  • Crochet 101: 5-6:30pm. Join us for a beginners crochet class! Make your own crochet square and learn important crochet concepts. We will start with the basics and show you how to make the slip knot, chain stitch, single crochet and double crochet, as well as how to count stitches and know which type of yarn and hook to use in your future projects.   • Puzzle Swap and Creative: 10am-2:30pm. Attention puzzle lovers! Are you looking for a fun way to gain new puzzles and swap out puzzles you have already finished? Are you interested in competing against other puzzle enthusiasts in a speed puzzling event? If so, please join us at the Floyd County Public Library for our Puzzle Swap and Competition. Up to 20 teams of 2 will go head-to-head to complete a 500 piece jigsaw puzzle as quickly as possible. To keep it fair, each team will be working the exact same puzzle. The winning team will be the first to finish their entire puzzle. If no team finishes their puzzle in the 2-hour time limit, the team with the most completed pieces wins. The swap takes place from 10-12pm, and the competition runs from 12-2pm.

Whether you're ready to sign up or just curious what it takes, we'll cover the basics to help you decide where you fit in. Come meet like-minded folks and kick off your wildlife journey!     Ready, Set, Glow!

    10am-2pm. Kentucky Science Center. Meet our resident superhero Ion Jones, study bioluminescence exploration in the Discovery Gallery, enjoy an electrifying electricity show in the Tech Forum at 1:30, and gets hands-on in our MakerPlace with refraction monocles, UV spin art, and a UV wonder wall. Guests can also enjoy an atrium demo at 12:30 and discover other hands-on activities throughout the building. You won’t want to miss this illuminating experience. First 500 children receive a FREE glow item like a ring, bracelet or necklace – stop past the Do Science Shop to pick up yours! Free with general admission.

The Brown Hotel is bringing back its esteemed afternoon tea with a unique Kentucky twist.
