  • Library Events - Floyd County

    • Toddler Time: 10-11am. Join us for stories, rhymes, songs, and other activities. This storytime is designed for Toddlers, but all are welcome!

    • Summer Lunch Activity: Crafts with Girl Scouts: 11-11:45am. Start your day with some fun before lunch!     • Crispus Attucks Escape Room Experience: 1-2pm. Galena branch. Unlock the mystery of a legendary shoe in this thrilling escape experience centered around Indiana’s basketball heritage. Crispus Attucks High School, located in Indianapolis, won back-to-back state basketball championships in 1955 and 1956. As the first all-Black school to EVER win a statewide championship anywhere in America, this was incredibly historic. So historic that the Converse company created a commemorative athletic shoe to honor CAHS. In this experience, Sammy, the Interviewing Toucan, has cleverly hidden the shoe, eager to steal the show. Your challenge is to outsmart Sammy and recover the shoe, revealing the secrets behind these historic triumphs.     • CAC Family Cinema: 1:30-3:30pm. Celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Disney's Cinderella on the big screen.  Make a light-up carriage and enjoy a royal treat.  Free to all. Registration required.

    • Sensory Friendly Storytime: 4-4:45pm. Sensory Friendly Storytime is a special storytime for children who may have felt left out or nervous to go to other storytimes. Here, children are free to stand up, walk around, etc.

  • Library Events - Jeffersonville Branch

    • 125th Celebration - Ice Cream & Art: 1-1:30pm. The New Washington State Bank Fun Truck will be handing out ICE CREAM to celebrate our library's 125th birthday. Join us next to the story walk as we enjoy our sweet treat and decorate the walkway with awesome chalk drawings. Kids 12 and under must be with a responsible party.

  • Morning Walk Club: 8-10am. Southern Indiana Sports Center. Join us weekdays from 8-10 a.m. at the climate-controlled Southern Indiana Sports Center for a comfortable and energizing way to stay active. Free event.

  • Cultural Pass 2025: Cultural Pass offers young people ages 0-21 and their families in the Greater Louisville and Southern Indiana area access to participate in arts, culture, science, history, heritage, and nature activities provided by over 50 venues, free of charge, from May 31 through August 10, 2025. New for 2025 download the app to your phone.

  • Dinopalooza at the Zoo: May 17 - September 1, travel back 65 to 200 million years in time to meet iconic prehistoric animals! Encounter 23 roaring, breathing giants from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. Enjoy the world’s tallest, life-sized robotic dinosaurs — ranging from 5-foot-long baby triceratops to a 40-foot-long tyrannosaurus rex. Free with admission or membership.

  • Retro-Active-Vision: Works by Scott Scarboro Exhibition: 10am-7pm. The Cultural Arts Center. Exhibit open May 22nd-October 18th. Multimedia artist Scott Scarboro has utilized numerous materials and processes for self-expression for over 3 decades. This exhibit is not really a retrospective, but a sampling of his hand-glitched videos, mixed media sculptures and quilts from the past, his current sound and video creations, along with offerings to the universe for hope and luck for future conceptions.

  • Get Fit, Floyd County!: 6-7pm. Kevin Hammersmith Park. Floyd County Parks and Recreation offers FREE outdoor group fitness classes on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings! All Get Fit, Floyd County! classes will take place at the KFC Stage and turf grass area, located between the main entrance to the New Albany Little League fields and the splash pad.

  • Music Bingo Mondays: 6:30-8:30pm. Derby City Pizza New Albany. Prizes: $5 for single, $5 for double bingo, $10 for coverall.

Tuesday, June 24

  • Library Events - Floyd County

    • Babies and Books: 10am-10:30am. Join us on Tuesday mornings as we sing, read board books, and have fun learning early literacy! Registration not required.

    • Read Between the Spines Book Club: 5:30-6:45pm. Do you like talking about books? Join us at the Galena Branch for our new book club for adults! This month's selection is Yellowface by R.F. Kuang. Copies of the book are available to check out at Galena Digital Library for registered participants. 

    • Pajama Time Stories: 6pm-6:45pm. Join us for a Pajama Party every Tuesday evening at the New Albany Library! Come in your pajamas and bring a favorite blanket and stuffed animal if you like. Registration not required.

    • Thank You For Your Service Event and Free Concert: 6:45-7:45pm. Come and join us on Tuesday, June 24th for a celebration of veterans of the United States Armed Forces! Recognizing the significant role veterans play in our society, the Floyd County Library would like to thank veterans by providing activities that acknowledge and celebrate their service to the nation. Booths will also be set up for veterans to receive invaluable VA information. To cap off the event, the River Cities Concert Band will conduct a performance featuring patriotic music on the library's upper level from 6:45-7:45pm. Please register below if you wish to attend the free concert.

    Library Events - Jeffersonville Branch

    • Mother Goose Time: 10:30am-11:15am. A fast-paced and interactive program for children ages 0-2 and their caregivers. Adult participation and interaction ensure the success of this program. Siblings may bring a doll or stuffed animal to bounce. Arrive early to get a spot. We will have a guest from the Vintage Fire Museum read our story and provide some parent tips for fire safety.

    • Family Tinker Time: 1-2pm. Join us at the Clarksville Library for an afternoon of building and tinkering! We have an assortment of building items for the whole family to enjoy, craft, and create! Get out of the summer sun for a bit of indoor tinkering time! 

    • Anime Club: 4-5pm. This club is all about Anime. Join us for games, projects, movies and more. Long-time members and new fans are welcome. Meet in the Teen Area. Registration required.

  • Library Events - Harrison County

    • Move & Groove Storytime: 10:30am, Corydon Branch

    • Fantasy Fairy Day: All day, Palmyra Branch.

    • Playgroup: 2pm, Elizabeth branch.

  • ½ Priced Bottle Tuesdays: 3-10pm, Wine Shop (New Albany). Every Tuesday ½ priced bottles of wine in house. Bring a friend (or two!) and come enjoy the Wine Shop.

  • Henryville Farmer’s Market: 5-7pm. 305 North Ferguson, Henryville, IN. Henryville Farmers Market opens May 6th and runs until October 23rd. The Market will be open every Tuesday and Thursday. Help support your local farmers and Small Businesses. We will also have Food Trucks at some of the Markets. We will let everyone know the week before what Food Truck will be there.

  • Pizza & Chill at Wine Shop: 5-9pm, Wine Shop (New Albany). Unwind with us every Tuesday from 5:00pm-9:00pm for our Pizza & Chill Special! Enjoy a glass of wine and a delicious flatbread pizza for just $20 . Plus, take advantage of our 1/2 off bottles of wine in-house to keep the good vibes flowing.

  • Half Baked: 6pm. Derby Dinner Playhouse. Recurring Daily through June 29. Retired brothers Jay and Sonny Allen move to central Florida with their wives to open a cafe. When the business starts to fail and their nest egg dries up, they decide to take drastic action and generate some cash. Action that includes murder for hire and baking cannabis into the appetizers to ‘stimulate’ business! And when an old boyfriend and a Latvian loan shark arrive on the scene, things really get complicated. This new comedy is a sure recipe for hilarity! Tickets required.

  • Kids Eat Free Tuesday: 4-10pm, RecBar 812 (New Albany). Every Tuesday, for every adult meal purchased, one child under the age of 12 can order a meal from the kid’s menu for free.

  • Music Bingo: 7pm, Dog Haus Biergarten New Albany. Join us every Tuesday for MUSIC BINGO!

Wednesday, June 25

  • Library Events - Floyd County

    • Wiggle Wednesday Storytime: 10-10:45am. Join us at Galena on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. to wiggle our wiggles out, read stories and sing songs! Registration not required.

    • Pre-K Storytime: 11-11:45am. The Cultural Arts Center. Pre-K Storytime helps children ages 3-5 get ready for kindergarten with stories, songs, and fun activities that build early literacy and social skills. Siblings are welcome! No registration required.

    • The Artistic Review: 4:30-6pm. The Cultural Arts Center. Join us at The Cultural Arts Center to explore newspaper articles and interpret them in an artistic way. You can use your imagination through poetry, crafts, or other mediums of art. We can't wait to see what you come up with! All supplies will be provided.

    • Sew...What's Going On? Quilt Block-A-Month: 5:30-7:30pm. Are you ready to learn beginning quilt techniques? Join this monthly class for kids! (Ages 9-18). In this class you will learn beginner quilting techniques. You will learn hand sewing, how to cut a pattern, how to use a sewing machine, and much more. In the process, you will be making a different quilt square each month. Each quilt square can be a stand alone, used as a hot pad or a square in a larger project. The class will be offered monthly, with a different quilt square taught at each meeting. Participants may choose to attend one class, many classes or all twelve. Those choosing to make all 12 quilt squares will have a complete "calendar quilt" at the end of the year. Class registration is required each month. (Please register only your child aged 9-18 so we can purchase the correct amount of materials. The accompanying adult should NOT be registered.) All registrants aged 9-12 must attend with a responsible adult.

    • Family Education Classes with CCYS: 6-8pm. Join us each Wednesday for free, in-person Family Education & Support Classes, presented by the Clark County Youth Shelter and Family Services. These supportive and engaging sessions are perfect for parents, guardians, and anyone in a caregiving role. The 9-week series covers topics such as community resources, healthy discipline, communication skills, understanding misbehavior, and setting children up for school success. Participants are entered into a monthly prize drawing for each session they attend!

    • Outdoor Yoga at Galena: 6-7pm. Galena. Join us on Wednesdays through the Summer for an outdoor yoga class with Instructor, Maria Peppas. This class is a basic beginner Yoga class that will help you destress after your day. Yoga mats will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. We hope to see you there! Registration required.

  • Library Events - Jeffersonville Branch

    • Preschool Prep: 10:30-11:15am. Join us for stories, songs, rhymes, and movement activities which encourage early literacy and kindergarten readiness skills. Ages 2-5 with a caregiver. Siblings are welcome.

    • Clarksville Reader’s Book Club: 1-2pm. The Clarksville group meets in-person the last Wednesday of the month at 1:00 p.m.  The group started out as an Oprah Book Club group and has continued for the past 25 years with lively discussions and thoughtful reading. The club discusses a wide variety of books and authors both fiction and non-fiction. 

    • Literacy Ladies Book Club: 6-7pm. The Clarksville Branch Library Literary Ladies Book Club is a book club for anyone interested in reading books that focus on family, friendship, and relationships that feature strong female characters.

  • Kid’s Cruise: 1-3pm. Belle of Louisville Riverboats. Learn about the power of steam aboard the Mary M. Miller in Louisville! The Ohio River is fun for everyone! Enjoy free Adventure Passports and activities on our most family-friendly cruise. And because it is a tradition, every excursion will end with an optional dance party just for fun. Tickets required.

    • Family Storytime in the Gallery: Degas: 10:30-11:30am. Thursday Family Storytimes will explore the world of art through fun stories and crafts, each week focusing on a new theme, artist or activity.

    • A Midsummer Night's Dream Performance: 1-2pm. Enjoy a family-friendly play of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" presented by Kentucky Shakespeare. Set in an enchanted forest, fairies meddle with the lives of humans, leading to confusion, humor, and ultimately, harmony. This is a hilarious comedy of mistaken identity, magical mischief, and best laid plans gone awry. Free for all ages. Registration is recommended, but not required.

    • Teen Scene: 6-7:30pm. Hang out with us every Thursday from 6:00 to 7:30pm in the Teen Scene! Take a break in the middle of the week with a new activity, game, craft, or anything else we dream up, plus snacks! All teens are welcome (11-18 years old).

  • Twilight Thursday: 5pm. Churchill Downs. Twilight Thursdays return with live Thoroughbred racing, $2 select domestic beer, live music and an array of locally popular food trucks in The Paddock Plaza each Thursday of the Spring Meet! Tickets required.

    • Make Your Own Tutu workshop: 10am-12pm. Kids of all ages can design and craft their own colorful tutu using simple knotting techniques—no sewing required! This hands-on program encourages creativity, fine motor skill development, and family bonding. Enjoy music, movement, and a performance by ballerinas from Motion Studio to inspire self-expression and fun!

    • Camp Half-Blood: Zeus and the Lightning in a Jar STEM Experiment In-Person: 3-4pm. Channel your inner Greek god, and learn how to make lightning in a jar! Who was the Greek god, Zeus? What were his special talents? Join us for a fun filled program where we will explore the god of the sky and thunder. We will also learn about weather and how quickly it changes during the volatile summer months. Finally, we will try out our own "magical" skills at making lightning in a jar. Registration required.

  • Library Events - Jeffersonville Branch

    • Friends of the Library Book Sale: 10am-1pm. The sales are held on the 2nd & 4th Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Our book sale room is located at the South end of the main library (closest to Court Avenue) on the lower level.

    • Crocheting Class at Jeffersonville: 12-2pm. Join us if you would like to either learn how to crochet or just fine tune your skills!

    • Balloon Art Smash: 2-3pm. Have fun and pour explosive puddles of color onto your canvas and then create creative masterpieces with your balloons. Registration required.

    • Color Your World: 2-3pm. Join us for an afternoon of coloring and fun. 

  • Floral Frenzy 5k: 7:15-10am. Kentucky Kingdom. Kick off the final Saturday of Floral Frenzy with a 5K colorful run! Beginning at 8 AM, registered guests can journey through Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay while being splashed with a vibrant display of colorful powders. Be sure to wear some sunglasses to help shield your eyes! After the finish line, racers can proudly display their Floral Frenzy 5K medal and enjoy light refreshments, included with registration, before the park opens at 10 AM.

  • New Albany Summer Farmer’s Market: 8am-12pm. 210 E Market St. New Albany. Summer Session of the New Albany Local Farmers Market - Wines, Slushies, baked goods, fresh veggies, flowers, meats, food truck, etc.

  • Jeffersonville Farmers Market: 9:30-12pm. Big Four Station. The Jeffersonville Farmers Market provides fresh, local products year round. Find us at Big Four Bridge on Saturdays from 9:30am-noon.

  • Saturdays on the Square: 10am-1pm. Check out local vendors on the Charlestown City Square every Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Saturdays on the Square Pop-up Market. Vendors range from local artists, craft makers, bakers, food, authors, civic groups, and more.

  • Backyard Classics Car Club 27th Annual Car Show: 10am-3pm. Charlestown City Square. Cars will line Main, Main Cross, and Short Street. Enjoy the wonderful cars along with music, fun, prizes, and food trucks (The German Corner, Yello Sno, Donut NV).

  • Afternoon Cruise: 12-2pm, Belle of Louisville Riverboats. Take it slow under the Southern sun with a delightful cruise along the Ohio River in Louisville. Your whole crew will enjoy the experience. Join us for a fun, informal excursion with free Adventure Passports for the kids. You can opt to enjoy a pre-selected boxed lunch on our Picnic Lunch or just sit back and enjoy the ride! Tickets required.

  • Pinkalicious: 12pm. Derby Dinner Playhouse. What happens when a little girl eats too many pink cupcakes? She turns pink, of course! See how Pinkalicious and her brother handle it in this hilarious musical based on the best-selling book.

  • Fossil Bed Discovery Hike: 1-2pm. Falls of the Ohio State Park. Discover the wonders of the fossil beds with a park naturalist. We will look at Devonian marine fossils and discuss how they lived, what they ate, and how and why they were preserved. Hike lasts 60 minutes. Meet on deck. We walk down 60 steps to fossil beds and return via ramp. (Or use ramp if participants have problems with steps.) Please wear shoes suitable for walking on rocks. Free event.

  • Founders Week Parade – "Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood": 1pm. This year's Grand Marshal is Donna Coomer, who has served as the City of Charlestown's Clerk Treasurer for 25 years! The parade route begins at Charlestown High School and heads down Monroe Street to Main Street to Level Street before returning to the high school. Enter the parade or join us along the route!

  • Amateur Corn Hole Tournament: 2pm. Family Activities Park. Amateur Corn Hole Tournament location has been moved to the Family Activities Park. The blind-draw tournament is for amateurs and recreational players only. Sponsored by Ace Hardware, the 1st place team will win Yeti Coolers and a $50 gift card. The 2nd place team will win $50 gift cards. Registration day of event.

  • Rock and Glow Festival, Balloon Glow and Concert: 2-11pm. Charlestown Little League Park. The festival grounds open at 2 p.m. with a live D.J. pumping music until 5 p.m. when live bands take over the stage. The Family Festival Field will feature bounce houses, games, and activities from Charlestown Parks and area organizations. Local craft vendors will be set up throughout the event as well.

  • Fossils that Swam – Paleontology Explorer: 3-4pm. Falls of the Ohio State Park. Fossils reveal a lot about ancient life. One characteristic is if they had the ability to move. Evidence of animals that swam can be determined by the body shape. Volunteer Dale Brown will bring and discuss fossils of creatures that swam – fish and cephalopods being the best preserved. Free program.

  • Moonlight Cruise: 8-10pm, Belle of Louisville Riverboats. There are few things as beautiful as Louisville in the moonlight aboard the Mary M. Miller. Enjoy yourself out on the river with a gentle breeze and a delicious cocktail and leave your troubles behind! Tickets required.

  • Day at the Races: 12:45pm. Churchill Downs. Tickets required.

  • Sunday Funday: 1-3pm. Belle of Louisville Riverboats. Turn your Sunday into #SundayFunDay aboard the historic Belle of Louisville! Cruise away the afternoon as you take in the sights and sounds of the Ohio River. Whether you choose to enjoy a delicious buffet meal option or just sit back and feel the breeze on our outdoor decks, wrap up your weekend your way. Tickets required.

  • Making Fossils – Art at the Falls: 3-4pm. Falls of the Ohio State Park. Participants will make fossils using clay. A variety of examples will be available to base your model. $2 program fee covered by the Falls of the Ohio Foundation. Meets in the picnic area.
