  • Movie Matinee: The Good Dinosaur: 1:30-3:15pm. Join us at the Central Library branch for our spring break Movie Matinee of Disney Pixar's, The Good Dinosaur! Chomp on popcorn and a make a craft while enjoying some Dino fun. If you haven't grabbed your Dinosaur Week puzzle piece stop by the customer service desk while you are here. This program is for families and kids of all ages. The movie is 1 hour and 33 minutes long and is rated PG. Registration encouraged, but not required. 

  • Meet & Make Mondays: 3-6pm. Cultural Arts Center.

  • Sensory Friendly Storytime: 4-4:45pm. Sensory Friendly Storytime is a special storytime for children who may have felt left out or nervous to go to other storytimes.

  • Make a Bird and Birdhouse Combo Program @ Borden: 1-2pm. This Spring Break your child and a caregiver can celebrate our bird friends by making a bird and then painting a birdhouse. Registration is required and begins 3/1.

Bouncetime at SIGS

9am-12pm. SIGS Gym New Albany. Offered weekdays M-F. FUN OPEN PLAY FOR FRIENDS UNDER 54". Two large bounce houses, a huge slide, trampolines, a foam pit, and lots of space to run, jump, and play! $8/child or $40 punch card for 6 visits or multiple kids.

Tot Time at SIGS

9:30-11am. SIGS Gym New Albany. Offered Mondays & Wednesdays. Limited to first 20 child participants. Our TOT SPOT program is for children 3 and under for socialization, movement, and music. Students will meet in our Launch Pad UPSTAIRS and complete some obstacles, and there will be music, games, and storytime. One adult may enter with a child.

Safari Eggventure 2026

March 14 – April 12, 2026. Louisville Zoo. FREE with Zoo admission or membership. EGGsplore your Zoo again this spring with an EGGcelent scavenger hunt game that allows you to dive deep into the Zoo while searching for hidden zoo-themed eggs, answering trivia questions and competing in some EGGstra special challenges.

New Albany Central Library Events

  • Babies & Books: 10-10:35am. Join us on Tuesday mornings for songs and stories! For ages 2 and under.

  • Life Skills 101: Communication Skills: 10-11am. Join us for a Life Skills 101 class focused on communication skills and self-advocacy. Participants will learn the difference between poor communication and effective communication habits, how to talk to support partners, and how to set boundaries. All participants will receive 2 TARC passes after the session. 

  • Dino Week Party: 11am-2pm. Join us at the Carnegie Library Cultural Arts Center for an afternoon of dinosaur fun at our Dino Week Party! There will be dinosaur sensory bins, photo booth, dinosaur themed literacy puzzles, and scavenger hunt. We will end the afternoon by watching A Land Before Time, a classic movie from 1989. We hope to see you there! Registration required.

  • It’s a Small World Storytime: 11am-12pm. You're invited to join us each week as we learn about themes like kindness, empathy, and family through different stories, songs, and crafts from around the world. This storytime is designed with kids ages 3-6 in mind, but all kids and families are welcome. Join us every Tuesday at 11am to discover if it really is a small world after all. 

  • Pajama Time Stories: 6-6:45pm. Join us for a Pajama Party every Tuesday evening at the New Albany Library! Come in your pajamas and bring a favorite blanket and stuffed animal if you like. The children's librarians will lead our Pajama Storytime with fun "bedtime" stories, rhymes and songs. Make this special storytime a part of your family's regular weekly bedtime routine.

    Galena Library Events

  • Mother Goose On the Loose: 1-2pm. Mother Goose on the Loose is an early literacy, interactive, lapsit storytime that uses rhymes and songs to help pre-reading children get ready for school and reading. This fun-filled 30 minute session, for infants to 23 months and caregivers (older siblings are welcome), will incorporate music, movement, repetition, positive reinforcement, nursery rhymes, puppets, musical instruments, colored scarves, and short book readings.  After the storytime, we'll have 30 minutes of play and social time.  *Adult participation is required in order to strengthen bonds between caregiver and child. It is most beneficial when children experience the program on a weekly basis and each caregiver will be given a lesson to follow along and practice at home.

  • Teen Tuesday: 5-6pm. Come chill at the library for Teen Tuesday!  This month you can paint your own Jurassic Style painting! Teens & tweens are welcome.  Registration is recommended and snacks will be provided!

  • Read Between the Spines Book Club: The Orphan Train: 5:30-6:45pm. Do you like talking about books? Join us at the Galena Branch for our new book club for adults! This month's selection is The Orphan Train. Copies of the book are available to check out at Galena Digital Library for registered participants.

  • Clarksville Wednesday Readers' Book Club: 1:30-2:30pm. The Clarksville group meets in-person the last Wednesday of the month at 1:00 p.m.  The group started out as an Oprah Book Club group and has continued for the past 25 years with lively discussions and thoughtful reading. The club discusses a wide variety of books and authors both fiction and non-fiction. 

  • Spring Break Movie Evening: Toy Story: 5:30-7:30pm. You've got a friend in the library at an all-ages movie evening!

THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE

6pm. Feb 18, 2026 - Mar 29, 2026. Derby Dinner Playhouse. An eclectic group of six awkward spelling champions vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves a champion. This wildly funny Broadway Musical is a riotous ride, complete with audience participation! Tickets required.

  • Open Studio Weekly Artist Check-in: 4-5pm. Cultural Arts Center. Join us for a once-weekly Open Studio designed for artists at any stage. This relaxed, supportive space offers free drawing time, creative block breakers, and optional guidance led by local artist and art educator Jessica Hartman.

  • Inspired by Her: Women's History Month Art Series: 5-6pm. Join us each week in March for open-ended art inspired by women who changed the world through creativity, curiosity, and courage. Participants will experiment with materials and ideas while creating art that’s uniquely their own. Ages 5-12. Registration required.

  • Teen Scene: 6-7:30pm. Join us in  Teen Scene for a showing of Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park along with a fun dino themed craft and snack! Jurassic Park(1993) is rated PG-13 with a run time of 2 hours and 2 minutes. Hang out with us every Thursday from 6:00 to 7:30pm in the Teen Scene! Take a break in the middle of the week with a new activity, game, craft, or anything else we dream up, plus snacks! All kids ages 11-18 welcome.
