Christmas At Kentucky Kingdom

We're dreaming of a white, bright and glowing Christmas this season at Kentucky Kingdom, Louisville's Family Theme & Water Park! Lights Under Louisville

  • Babies and Books: 10-10:30am. Join us on Tuesday mornings as we sing, read board books, and have fun learning early literacy!

  • It’s a Small World Storytime: 11am-12pm. You're invited to join us each week as we learn about themes like kindness, empathy, and family through different stories, songs, and crafts from around the world. This storytime is designed with kids ages 3-6 in mind, but all kids and families are welcome. Join us every Tuesday at 11am to discover if it really is a small world after all. 

  • Pajama Time Stories: 6-6:45pm. Join us for a Pajama Party every Tuesday evening at the New Albany Library! Come in your pajamas and bring a favorite blanket and stuffed animal if you like. The children's librarians will lead our Pajama Storytime with fun "bedtime" stories, rhymes and songs. Make this special storytime a part of your family's regular weekly bedtime routine.

  • Mother Goose On the Loose: 1-2pm. Mother Goose on the Loose is an early literacy, interactive, lapsit storytime that uses rhymes and songs to help pre-reading children get ready for school and reading. This fun-filled 30 minute session, for infants to 23 months and caregivers (older siblings are welcome), will incorporate music, movement, repetition, positive reinforcement, nursery rhymes, puppets, musical instruments, colored scarves, and short book readings.  After the storytime, we'll have 30 minutes of play and social time.  *Adult participation is required in order to strengthen bonds between caregiver and child. It is most beneficial when children experience the program on a weekly basis and each caregiver will be given a lesson to follow along and practice at home. Registration required.

    Christmas Tales - Story Time

    5pm. Bass Pro Shops Clarksville. Make your reservation for Christmas Tales for a story time with Mrs. Claus and Santa every Tuesday beginning November 4 and running through December 23. Reservations are required as space is limited. Listen to a story, and then get your free photo with Mrs. Claus and Santa! These story times are every Tuesday at 5pm during our 2025 Santa's Wonderland. Reservations can be made at basspro.com/santa, then look for Christmas Tales! This is different from the photo with Santa!

    Jeopardy Bar League

    7-9pm. Dog Haus Biergarten New Albany. JEOPARDY! Bar League, the official bar trivia experience from America’s Favorite Quiz Show is at Dog Haus Biergarten every Tuesday! Free event.

  • Pre-K Storytime: 11-11:45am. Pre-K Storytime helps children ages 3-5 get ready for kindergarten with stories, songs, and fun activities that build early literacy and social skills. Siblings are welcome! No registration required.

  • Baby’s Afternoon Out: 1-2pm. Join us for an afternoon of early literacy fun for babies! There will be stories, songs, and sensory activities for babies to interact with at the end of the program. Registration required.

  • Watercolor Wednesdays: 4-6pm. Cultural Arts Center. Join us at the Carnegie Library Cultural Arts Center to watercolor paint winter and holiday scenes in the month of December, such as, a penguin, Christmas tree, snowman, and more. All supplies will be provided. We look forward to seeing you! Registration required.

    A Christmas Carol

    7pm. Pamela Brown Auditorium, Actors Theatre of Louisville, 316 W Main St. Scrooge is back in all of his humbug glory! His disdain for Christmas is no match for visits from enchanting ghosts, a lively ensemble of characters, and the music of the season. Honoring Dickens’ classic tale, this acclaimed adaptation embraces generosity, community, and second chances. Bring your friends and family to Actors Theatre of Louisville for a new production celebrating this beloved tradition. Tickets required.

  • Make & Take - Holiday Ornaments: 1-2pm. The Cultural Arts Center. Join us for a creative evening of crafting and socializing.  This month we will be creating 5 different holiday ornaments, perfect for decorating your Christmas tree or giving as gifts to loved ones. All supplies provided free, no special skills needed. Registration required.

  • Polar Express Party & Santa Meet’n Greet: 3-6pm. Journey on the Polar Express for a magical day at the North Pole. Enjoy free snow cones, an exciting indoor snowball fight, hot chocolate, and a visit with Santa Claus. Feel free to drop by anytime. We'll have 8 different train stations set up to watch and play with. Then tour our Official White House Ornament collection, donated by Pat Harrison. This special collection features every White House ornament that has been released by the White House Historical Association. Since 1981, a new ornament has been unveiled every year, honoring either a president or a White House milestone. This free event is for all ages and will take place in the lower level of the Library.

  • Teen Scene: 6-7:30pm. Hang out with us every Thursday from 6:00 to 7:30pm in the Teen Scene! Take a break in the middle of the week with a new activity, game, craft, or anything else we dream up, plus snacks! All teens are welcome (11-18 years old).

  • Move & Groove Storytime: 10:30-11:30am. Join us at Galena on Thursdays as we move and groove to some fun books, basic rhythms and rhymes, and different music genres!  We'll use things like a drum, hand bells, rhythm sticks, egg shakers, or scarves in this lively and interactive storytime.  Moove & Groove will help build early literacy skills, social interaction, and blossoming young music lovers!

    Gardens Aglimmer

    Waterfront Botanical Gardens. Stroll through pathways illuminated with giant glowing flowers, shimmering snowflakes, twinkling archways, and sparkling deer. Write a letter to Santa, create a festive craft, and even meet Santa and Mrs. Claus! They will be present all nights of the event until Christmas. After that, they will return to the North Pole! Warm drinks and sweet treats will be for sale at the outdoor Jingle All the Way Café, and Frosty’s Tinsel Tavern, a new bar inside the Graeser Family Education Center will offer beer, wine, and festive signature cocktails for purchase. Tickets required.

The Brown-Froman Nutcracker

7:30pm. The Kentucky Center. Show dates and times December 12-22. Join Marie and her valiant Nutcracker prince on a magical journey to the land of the Sugar Plum Fairy. With world-class choreography, sets, and costumes crafted for Kentucky, The Brown-Forman Nutcracker is a must-see local tradition. Performances feature live music performed by the Louisville Orchestra. Tickets required.

Krampusnacht

7-11pm. The Culbertson Mansion. Krampusnacht is an annual holiday-themed haunted house experience. The event takes place in the Carriage House but attendees purchase tickets and queue inside the Mansion's beautifully decorated Formal Parlor. Tickets $18 required.

Winter “Frights & Lights” Tour

7:30-9:30pm. New Albany Wicked Walk. Here at the New Albany Wicked Walk, we love continuing the old Victorian tradition of sharing spooky stories during the long dark winter months! So bundle up & come stroll with us through the dark past of downtown New Albany, IN! You will hear macabre historical tales of murder, tragic events, serial killers, hauntings, ghosts, & more! And all told under the glow of downtown New Albany's beautiful holiday lights! Tickets $20 required.

    9am-2pm. 5231 IN-62, Georgetown, IN 47122. Free admission.

    T’was the Hike Before Christmas

    1-2pm. T’was the hike before Christmas, and all through the park, the naturalist led an outing, before it got dark.  River level permitting, volunteer naturalist Nick (he does have a beard!) will lead a hike on the fossil beds and other parts of the park.  Meets on the deck and moves to the wheelchair turnaround before we head towards the fossil beds and then make our way to other locations.  This is a free program.  $2 pay-to-park fee applies for the main lot.  Inclement weather cancels.  High water moves us to the picnic area.  Caroling and poetry are optional.  Nick might read an alternate version of the famous poem or crack some Christmas puns.  Observation Deck, 1 hour.

    Santa Photo Saturdays

    3-5pm. Clark County Museum. Admission is free, photos with Santa $20.

    Krampusnacht

    7-11pm. The Culbertson Mansion. Krampusnacht is an annual holiday-themed haunted house experience. The event takes place in the Carriage House but attendees purchase tickets and queue inside the Mansion's beautifully decorated Formal Parlor. Tickets $18 required.

    Beary Happy Holiday 2025

    Throughout December, we’re transforming areas of your Zoo into a winter wonderland, complete with holiday-themed decorations and animal enrichment. Immerse yourself in the festive spirit and cure your cabin fever with an exciting month-long scavenger hunt — a perfect activity for the whole family. Participants who complete at least half of the game will be entered to win Zoo-themed prizes. Free with zoo admission or membership.

Sunday, Dec 21

Natural Ornaments - Family Nature Club

3-4pm. Create a natural ornament to hang from your tree. We will provide an assortment of natural materials for your ornament. This program is geared for children aged 5 to 14. $2 program fee is covered by a grant from the Falls of the Ohio Foundation. Meets in the rotunda.
