New Albany Central Library Events

  • Toddler Time: 10-11am. Join us for stories, rhymes, songs, and other activities. This storytime is designed for Toddlers, but all are welcome!

  • Stories & Art with Ms. Ashley: 3:30-4:30pm. Cultural Arts Center.

  • Sensory Friendly Storytime: 4-4:45pm. Sensory Friendly Storytime is a special storytime for children who may have felt left out or nervous to go to other storytimes.

Galena Library Events

  • Nature Scavenger Hunt: 10am-7pm. How many treasures can you find?  Join us for a 2 week-long (Sept 29-Oct 11) nature scavenger hunt on the grounds of the Galena Digital Library! Pop inside the library to grab a scavenger hunt sheet and a writing utensil.  Once you've found the items on the list, turn it in for a fun little prize! *An indoor hunt will be available if the weather is not agreeable.

Haunted Scavenger Hunt & Pub Crawl 2025

Kiwanis Club, in partnership with the New Albany Wicked Walk, is excited to announce the 1st Annual Haunted Scavenger Hunt and Pub Crawl. This unique event takes participants through eight historical buildings and five pubs in downtown New Albany, combining history, fun, and a spooky twist. The scavenger hunt runs from September 12 through October 31, and tickets are $30 each, with four participants recommended per ticket. Proceeds will benefit local elementary students by providing back-to-school kits for NAFC schools. The hunt can be completed on any day, at any time, making it easy to fit into your schedule. Clues are accessed through QR codes located on the buildings, adding an interactive element to the adventure.

Jack O’Lantern Spectacular

6:30-11pm. Iroquois Amphitheater. The Jack O'Lantern Spectacular has become the "must-see" event of the Halloween season. Presented each October along a winding path through the majestic woods of Iroquois Park, guests are treated to an organic art gallery of more than 5,000 artistically carved pumpkins in themed settings. Tickets required.

New Albany Central Library Events

  • Babies and Books: 10am-10:30am. Join us on Tuesday mornings as we sing, read board books, and have fun learning early literacy! Registration not required.

  • It’s a Small World Storytime: 11am-12pm. You're invited to join us each week as we learn about themes like kindness, empathy, and family through different stories, songs, and crafts from around the world. This storytime is designed with kids ages 3-6 in mind, but all kids and families are welcome. Join us every Tuesday at 11am to discover if it really is a small world after all. 

  • Fall Leaf Pumpkin Seed Mosaic: 2-4pm. Cultural Arts Center. Join us to make your own fall leaf pumpkin seed mosaic! You will receive pre-painted pumpkin seeds and make your very own fall leaf design just in time for Harvest Homecoming! We hope to see you! All supplies are provided. Registration required.

  • Make a Bamboo Paintbrush: 5-7pm. Cultural Arts Center. Join us on October 2 and October 7 at the Floyd County Carnegie Library Cultural Arts Center for this free, fun and useful two day workshop to make your own paintbrush and create art. On October 2, museum staff member, Al Gorman, will lead a simple paintbrush making experience using bamboo, epoxy glue, and horsehair. Once the bristles are set and trimmed, bring your brushes back to the Cultural Arts Center on October 7 for an ink drawing experience. Participants can make two or three brushes to take home and keep. All supplies are provided. Registration is required.

  • Pajama Time Stories: 6pm-6:45pm. Join us for a Pajama Party every Tuesday evening at the New Albany Library! Come in your pajamas and bring a favorite blanket and stuffed animal if you like. Registration not required.

  • Mother Goose Time: 10:30-11:15am. A fast-paced and interactive program for children ages 0-2 and their caregivers. Adult participation and interaction ensure the success of this program. Siblings may bring a doll or stuffed animal to bounce. Arrive early to get a spot.

  • Game Day Gear Lab: 2-4pm. Suit up and show your team spirit! In this creative workshop, participants will design their very own dream team jersey using T-shirts, vinyl iron-ons, fabric markers, and more.

    Henryville Farmer’s Market

    5-7pm. 305 North Ferguson, Henryville, IN. Henryville Farmers Market opens May 6th and runs until October 23rd. The Market will be open every Tuesday and Thursday. Help support your local farmers and Small Businesses. We will also have Food Trucks at some of the Markets. We will let everyone know the week before what Food Truck will be there.

  • Stories at Silver Street Park: 10-11am. Join us for stories, crafts, and fun the second Wednesday of every month from 10-11am at Silver Street Park in New Albany. 

  • Babie's Morning Out: 10:30-11:30am. Cultural Arts Center. Join us for a morning of early literacy fun for babies! There will be stories, songs, and sensory activities for babies to interact with at the end of the program.

  • Pre-K Storytime: 11-11:45am. Pre-K Storytime helps children ages 3-5 get ready for kindergarten with stories, songs, and fun activities that build early literacy and social skills. Siblings are welcome! No registration required.

  • Kid’s Club: 4-5pm.

  • Karate with Terry Greenwell: 2-3pm. Join Terry Greenwell for an introduction into Shotokan Karate. This martial arts style focuses on the development of mind, body, and spirit. For ages 18 and under. Registration Required.

House of Anguish at the Culbertson Mansion has been scaring Kentuckiana for 40 years, making it one of the longest-running haunted attractions in the region. The New Albany Wicked Walk Walking Tour - SPOOKY SEASON 2025 Macabre Main / Mansion Row Tour

8-10pm. Because of the Harvest Homecoming Festival that will be going on in downtown New Albany at this time, we present our Macabre Main / Mansion Row Tour. This tour focuses on the area of Main St. from the Culbertson Mansion to roughly Bank St. This tour is based on actual documented historical events. During the tour, we will visit the locations and the guide will share information and stories about the site. This is not a "haunted house" type tour (NO jump scares) but hopefully the chilling, graphic, and shocking details from history will do the  trick! Tickets required.

Saturdays on the Square

10am-1pm. Check out local vendors on the Charlestown City Square every Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Saturdays on the Square Pop-up Market. Vendors range from local artists, craft makers, bakers, food, authors, civic groups, and more.
